Natural Relief from Fibromyalgia.

Studies Show Nutrients Can Relieve Pain and Restore Energy !

Fibromyalgia now affects almost five percent of the population.
Its main symptoms include chronic musculoskeletal pain, sleep disorders and general fatigue.
Though misunderstood and misdiagnosed in the past, fibromyalgia is now recognized as a serious -but treatable- disorder.

Recent studies into the causes and symptoms of fibromyalgia suggests a few crucial natural substances can help those who struggle with often debilitating condition.

PAIN RELIEF

Fibromyalgia patients suffer chronic generalized pain as well as specific tender areas. According to studies, a Magnesium deficiency in muscles may contribute to the pain associated with fibromyalgia. This is supported by the fact that fibromyalgia patients are commonly found to be deficient in magnesium. Even in healthy individuals, low magnesium levels may lead to muscle spasms.

One study showed that increased levels of magnesium dramatically reduced the number and severity of painful areas. Other studies suggest that Malic Acid works together with magnesium to restore the damaged muscle proteins that cause pain sensations. Some doctors report reduced muscle pain in as little as 48 hours with the combination of magnesium and malic Acid.

RESTORING ENERGY

Magnesium and Malic Acid are also among the most essential ingredients for the body`s production of energy in the form of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the basic energy “currency” used by the muscles. If magnesium and malic acid levels are low, energy will also be low.

Siberian Ginseng is another well studied natural remedy. It has been used successfully for hundreds of years to increase energy, promote wellbeing and reduce stress. According to James Balch, MD, ginseng saves glucose stores by utilizing fatty acids as an energy source. One study showed that ginseng can also help in repair of muscle tissue.

ENZYME ADVANTAGE

BROMELAIN, a digestive enzyme from pineapple, may have a triple role for fibromyalgia patients. First. it aids in the digestion of food and hence the much needed nutrients and trace minerals. Second, studies have shown that bromelain has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.

Lastly, bromelain may even help “digest” or break down thickened muscle tissue layers thereby help relieve pain.

Like the enzyme bromelain, Citrus Bioflavonoids have anti-inflammatory properties that may help relieve some of the pain associated with fibromyalgia. Bioflavonoids are also important for the strength  and repair of muscle tissue.

In addition to supplying these nutrients, health professionals suggest maintaining regular exercise and avoiding caffeine, sugar and alcohol.
